7" flared porcelain bowl thrown with inner spiral and Blessings symbol impression
More information
The Chinese character for "blessing", pronounced FU" in mandarin, is synonymous with well-being and prosperity, a condition of plenty in which one does not need or want for anything. Often times used to connote plenty in regard to family, children & grandchildren, as well as financial fullness, this character is most often applied to bountiful blessings in the forms of good health, peacefulness & happiness in the household. These bowls are designed and wheel thrown by Rebecca Moy Behre in the noodle bowl shape with a small trimmed foot and a blessing symbol impressed in the bottom. A continuous throwing line starts from the top and spirals downward towards the character, giving it strength and capturing the motion of the wheel. This bowl makes a meaningful housewarming, wedding or hostess gift.
