GREENBRIDGE POTTERY
HOLIDAY CIDER RECIPE
Mix together &
simmer the following on low for about an hour
1/2 gallon of fresh cider
2 cups (not from concentrate) orange juice
1 - 2 tsp of ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground cloves
plus 3-4 cinnamon sticks
1 whole fresh navel orange or 2 clementines in the pot sliced very thin
1 c. fresh cranberries
Stir often to keep mixture from settling & burning
Once the cranberries & orange slices have gotten soft
transfer hot mixture to Crockpot set high and add the following while stirring .....
1/2 c. honey
2 c. pomegranate cranberry blueberry juice (must be 100%juice to taste right)
1 cup of extra pulpy (not from concentrate) orange juice
and more cider
to adjust sweetness to taste.
Once the mixture is hot, reset Crockpot to low or warm
Periodically add fresh cider and/or Pom/cran/blue juice
to adjust potency & temperature
as crockpot simmers & intensifies the flavors and as serving depletes the volume.
Keep ladle next to crockpot
but not in it to prevent singed fingers!
